Rationale and Purposes

Together with the Manchester Fly Facility we have designed a template to help fly facilities that are generating transgenic flies, to show the information that ideally they would store for each fly line that they generate, and provide to researchers along with the new fly line. The information in the template is intended to make it easy for authors to provide a complete descripton of the fly line when they publish their research and/or donate stocks to Stock Centers, which will facilitate curation by FlyBase and the Stock Centers.
